Finally the day has come where I am a free man to run! For the past few weeks I have only been able to run on the treadmill for about 30 minutes or so gradually increasing my run/walk intervals. As of yesterday
Kevin gave me the green light to start building my base for running. I have been waiting for this day since Oct. 14th. The funny thing about being injured and having surgery is that the hard part is not the actual surgery, but rather the waiting game you have to play afterwards. Like many of us athletes we are challenged day in and day out with training, diet, recovery, attitude, etc. I looked at my surgery not necessarily as a bad thing, but rather another challenge to see if I could mentally have the patience to heal correctly and follow the guidelines of recovery.
Now the hard part of gaining run fitness, just another challenge I have to win!
Hope everyone stayed safe and out of trouble in this nasty weather!
